Vincentian Tevin Goodridge Dasilva makes history, becomes first male to fly American Airlines

It is a proud moment for the island nation and a significant milestone that Tevin Goodridge Dasilva became the first Vincentian male to pilot American Airlines to Argyle International Airport of St Vincent and the Grenadines.

St Vincent and the Grenadines: It is a proud moment for the island nation and a significant milestone that Tevin Goodridge Dasilva became the first Vincentian male to pilot American Airlines to Argyle International Airport of St Vincent and the Grenadines.

He achieved this milestone on 17th July 2024 aboard flight AA2735. Also, the official page of Argyle International Airport Inc. shared the glimpses of the celebration of the First Officer. The Prime Minister of St Vincent and the Grenadines, Dr Ralph Gonsalves attended the ceremony and extended congratulations to the First Officer.

While lauding the determination of the young man, PM Gonsalves stated that he is truly proud of his countrymen, that they are bringing laurels to the nation through such accomplishments. He further asserted that it is a huge development for the aviation sector of the country, which will definitely create a positive impact on its overall value. The leader of the nation presented Dasilva with a token of love in order to remember the moment and etched this beautiful memory forever in his heart.

Dasilva’s family members also attended the welcoming ceremony. He took advantage of that prestigious moment and extended gratitude to his mother for everything that she had done for him. He noted that it is extremely a great feeling for him as he can also help her back in the same manner as she used to do. He further asserted that although it isn’t ET Joshua Airport, still it is an amazing honour for him to get the opportunity to take full circle and fly back into his land where it all began.

Moreover, it was shared by Tevin Dasilva that he found out a month ago about the flight and made a bid to make the trip. He later stated that the return flight was even more special for him as his mom and little sister were along with him.

“Congratulations again to First Officer DaSilva and best wishes in all that you do,” noted Argyle International Airport.

Also, Dasilva is the second Vincnetian in the recent times to create history as in December 2023 Rochelle Roache-Lanza was the first female Vincentian pilot to fly for American Airlines. She created history by becoming the first female officer of Vincentian on flight 1427 traversing from Miami to St Vincent and the Grenadines.
