MSC Virtuosa inaugural visit to St Vincent celebrated with exceptional cultural display

The welcoming ceremony for the inaugural call of MSC Virtuosa Cruise Ship was filled with vibrant culture, breathtaking scenery, and unforgettable experiences in St Vincent and the Grenadines.

MSC Virtuosa docked at the shores of St Vincent and the Grenadines on Wednesday, 27th November 2024, brought thousands of passengers to the country.

Plaque exchange ceremony

A plaque exchange ceremony took place on board the vessel in order to celebrate the inaugural visit by the vessel to the shores of the country. Plaques were exchanged between the captain of the vessel and representatives from the St Vincent and the Grenadines Port Authority and the SVG Tourism Authority.

Shedding light on the first-ever visit of the MSC Virtuosa to the shores of St Vincent and the Grenadines, the tourism authority said that they are aiming to mark the beginning of fruitful relation between the vessel and the country.

“Today, we mark a historic moment as the majestic MSC Virtuosa makes its inaugural call to the stunning shores of St. Vincent and the Grenadines,” noted the tourism authority.

Vessel brought thousands of passengers

The vessel brought over 6000 passengers to the country in its inaugural call, buzzed the port with entertainment and excitement. All the passengers boarded the vessel engaged in different activities in the country, making the most of their visit to the island nation.

Thousands of passengers that arrived in the vessel gave a major boost to the tourism sector of the country. The authorities expressed excitement on welcoming the international visitors and aimed at continuing to provide and showcase the best of St Vincent and the Grenadines to them.

“It’s always a joy to share our stunning destination with visitors from around the world,” said the tourism authority.

MSC Black Week Offer

The MSC Cruise Limited has also introduced its Black Week Offer, which includes a 14-night Caribbean Fly and Cruise package aboard MSC Virtuosa. Under this package, the vessel will be making its visit to the itineraries including, Martinique, Guadeloupe, St Vincent and the Grenadines, Barbados, Grenada, Castries, Tortola, Antigua and Barbuda and St Maarten.

St Vincent Cruise Season

The Cruise Season 2024-2025 was kicked off in St Vincent and the Grenadines with the arrival of German Ship, Mein Schiff 2. The inaugural and the first visit by the vessel was celebrated with exceptional cultural display. 

The authorities conducted a special ceremony which as attended by several delegates of the tourism authority of St Vincent and the Grenadines. Along with that, the Miss SVG 2024 Zada Stephens, as well as the representatives from SVG Port Authority were also a part of the welcoming ceremony.

Highlighting on the 2024-2025 cruise season, the authority added that they have high hopes from this season and are aiming to break all the previous records set by them.

Development in Kingstown’s Modern Port

The tourism authority of St Vincent and the Grenadines have made several significant constructions on the modern port in Kingstown. Shedding light on the advancements made by them, the authorities said that they are aiming to see the transformation of Kingstown, providing comfortable travel and stay experience to all the visitors.
