MSC Virtuosa passengers enjoy Steelpan, Calypso on arrival in Saint Lucia 

Passengers of the MSC Virtuosa enjoyed the local Steelpan and Calypso performances upon their arrival in Saint Lucia. The vessel, docked at Castries with over 6,000 passengers, who received a grand welcome. 

The passengers said the experience will always be “unforgettable”. The ship will again be returning on another itinerary on 13 December, 2024. 

Port of Saint Lucia buzz with entertainment

With the arrival of thousands of passengers, the port buzzed with excitement and entertainment. The authorities hosted several water-based tourism activities for the passengers, engaging them in the diverse offerings of the country.

All the passengers were offered various facilities, giving them an opportunity to immerse themselves in the vibrant culture and traditions of the island nation.

MSC Virtuosa, operated by MSC Cruises is one of the newest and most advanced vessels in the MSC fleet. The vessel was launched in 2021, known for its luxurious features and top-notch amenities.

Saint Lucia to mark record-breaking cruise arrivals in 2024

The Government of Saint Lucia is expecting to mark record-breaking cruise arrivals in 2024, welcoming around 459 vessels to its ports. The authorities are looking forward to welcoming approx. 823,132 passengers, marking a huge boost in the tourism and economic sector of the country.

The authorities expressed their desire towards surpassing the record set by them in 2019. “This development means more jobs, more opportunities, and a significant boost to our economy!”

The authorities said that they are looking forward to witness the arrival of more and even larger vessels to the island nation, aiming to exceed all the records and bring immense growth in the tourism sector of the country.
