WINAIR began its winter schedule by marking its historic inaugural flight to Barbados, connecting several destinations including St Maarten, Saint Lucia, and St Vincent and the Grenadines. The initiation of these services marks a huge milestone for the air travel sector of the Caribbean region, aiming to foster unity and boost the economy of the respective nations.
This expansion and the inaugural flight of WINAIR to Barbados, Saint Lucia and St Vincent and the Grenadines was celebrated with a grand ribbon-cutting ceremony. The ceremony was conducted at the Princess Juliana International Airport on Friday, 15th November, 2024.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony was attended by several delegates including the Minister of Tourism of St. Maarten, Grisha Heyliger-Marten and the CEO of the Princess Juliana International Airport, Brian Mingo and several other officials.
What did delegates say about the WINAIR expansion?
While shedding light on the expansion of the services by WINAIR, Minister Grisha Heyliger-Marten said that it is a major step taken by them towards making regional travel more accessible for the visitors. She added that they are committed to foster the nations of the Caribbean region and elevating the economic conditions of their respective countries.

CEO of WINAIR, Hans van de Velde’s views on this expansion: While shedding light on the services, he added that they are extremely happy to facilitate passengers from St Lucia, St Vincent and Barbados. He further said that all these services shed light on the unwavering hard work, commitment and dedication of their entire team.

WINAIR INAUGURAL FLIGHT ON 15th November
As per the details, WINAIR Flight 873 flew from Princess Juliana International Airport and made a stop in Barbados on 15th November, 2024. Following that, the aircraft made a brief halt at Argyle International Airport of St Vincent and the Grenadines before arriving in George F.L. Charles Airport of Saint Lucia.

The airline will also offer services for the regions including St Maarten, Saint Lucia and St Vincent and the Grenadines. These services will be provided two times in a week.
