Castries, Saint Lucia: Saint Lucia Sports Academy has expressed its gratitude towards the Sports Division of Dominica for organising a successful tour of Saint Lucia Sports Academy to the Commonwealth of Dominica.
As per the update by the Sports Division, the St Lucia Sports Academy has made it two wins out of two in their football matches on the tour of Dominica.
After defeating the Castle Bruce Secondary School, Champion of the Sports Division Secondary Schools Football competition in the U17 Division on Sunday, they continued their winning run on Tuesday, April 11 2023.
The update by the division further informed that in a nail-biting encounter at Benjamin Park, the St Lucia Sports Academy pulled out a 1 goal to nil victory over the Dominica Combined Secondary Schools Football team on Tuesday evening.
The match was a tough and aggressive one, with both sides looking to dominate each other.
In addition to this, the Sports Division Dominica also stated that both the teams created scoring opportunities, with St Lucia Sports Academy having the better of the exchange. The match was decided by the solitary goal scored in the 44 minutes of play in the first half by Kyle Jno Baptiste.
The Dominica Combined Secondary Schools came out in the second half in full attack and created a few good scoring opportunities but failed to convert on any of them. St. Lucia Sports Academy defended resolutely for the second half to maintain their 1-goal lead and the victory.
In conclusion, the division stated that the games concluded, on April 12, with a final Cricket match, a T10 match, and at 6 pm, a Football match, both between the Dominica Combined Schools and the St Lucia Sports Academy.
This tournament has gathered praise from all sides and also attracted attention from the people living in Saint Lucia, Dominica and other Caribbean countries.
