Grenada named 2024 Caribbean Destination of the Year

Grenada has once again charmed the tourists with its eternal beauty and diverse offerings as recently it has been honoured with the 2024 Caribbean Destination of the Year. This recognition sheds light on the growing appeal of the country as the tourism destination among international travellers and the commitment of the authorities towards promoting sustainable tourism.

As per the details, more than 35,798 voters participated in the Caribbean Journal Travellers’ Choice Awards this year. The result turned out to be in favour of Grenada, winning the 2024 Caribbean Destination of the Year with the maximum number of votes.

This result sheds light on the enduring appeal of Grenada among travellers and the captivating place it has made in the hearts and minds of the voters with its exceptional offerings and beautiful hotspots.

The Spice Isle secured the top rankings in their respective categories, earning acknowledgement and appreciation for its unique blend of breathtaking natural beauty, engaging experiences, and commitment to promoting sustainable tourism in the island nation.

Shedding light on the honour received by them, the CEO of the Grenada Tourism Authority, Petra Roch said that this prestigious recognition celebrates the destination which has attracted the hearts and the imagination level of the most frequent and knowledgeable travellers of the Caribbean region.

She further said that this honour is a testament to the unwavering commitment and dedication of the authorities towards making Grenada, a must-visit destination. She added that they are committed to offer all their visitors exactly what the modern traveller is looking for, i.e, authentic cultural immersion, a safe and welcoming environment, and a strong commitment to sustainability.

The CEO further noted that this honour reflects the hard work and dedication of each person who has been making efforts to create a meaningful experience for all the visitors.

Highlighting the vision of the tourism authority, she stated that they are looking forward to not just delight their visitors but also reflect their core values as a country.

She stated that this honour would serve as a strong endorsement for Grenada, aiming to play a significant role in attracting the attention of global audiences. She added that they are aiming to captivate high-income and highly educated travellers, primarily from the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom, who visit the Caribbean 3.4 times per year on an average.

Grenada: Best Place to travel in 2025

Grenada has also been recently named as one of the 50 best places to travel in 2025. The authorities said that they are looking forward to redefining the Caribbean luxury with its new exceptional accommodations like Silversands Beach House and Six Senses La Sagesse.

The tourism authority highlighted their vibrant culture, delicious food and natural beauty of the country, aiming to offer a plethora of experiences to all the visitors, making their visit to the Spice Isle unforgettable.
