MV Villa Vie Odyssey marked its inaugural visit to the shores of Dominica at the Roseau Cruise Ship Berth on Wednesday, 20th November, 2024. The vessel brought over 900 passengers, marking a beginning of new relations and connectivity between the vessel and the island nation.
The first visit of MV Villa Vie Odyssey was celebrated with a welcoming ceremony which was attended by several tourism delegates, marking a start of the new relations in the cruise sector of the Caribbean region.
This significant event was celebrated with a plaque exchange ceremony which was conducted on board the vessel, recognizing its presence on the shores of the island nation. All the passengers and the crew members boarding the vessel were also warmly welcomed by the authorities, giving them an opportunity to explore the vibrant culture and breathtaking landscapes of the island nation.
The vessel arrived at the shores of the country at around 8 am and will stay till the following day and is expected to depart at 7 pm on Thursday, 21st November, 2024. Following that, the tourism authority of Dominica also welcomed MV Celebrity Summit, bringing 2452 passengers to the country.
The authorities welcomed the majestic MV Celebrity Summit with a warm welcome and expressed excitement on sharing the beauty, culture and hospitality of the Nature Island with all their tourists.
The authorities said that they are committed to welcome thousands of passengers in the 2024-2025 cruise season, aiming to immerse them in the vibrant beauty and rich cultural heritage of Dominica. As per the details unveiled by the authorities, the island nation has till now welcomed around 14 vessels to the shores of the country, welcoming around 27,000 passengers.
Also, the authorities are anticipating to mark a packed schedule for the upcoming month of December, aiming to welcome 49 cruise calls to the shores of the country. The vessels are expected to bring 65,752 visitors to the island nation, boosting the tourism sector to greater heights.
The 2024-2025 Cruise Season of Dominica was also started with the arrival of MV Celebrity Summit on Wednesday, 9th October, 2024. The vessel brought thousands of passengers that graced the shores of the country with their presence.
As per the details, the authorities are expecting to welcome a total of 236 vessels in the 2024-2025 cruise season, including the inaugural visit by 11 new cruise lines. The authorities said that they are committed to offer an unforgettable experience to all their passengers and provide them an opportunity to explore the lush rainforest, waterfalls and warm island vibes of Dominica.
