Dominica has kickstarted the December month with the arrival of over 6,000 cruise passengers on the first day. As scheduled, three ships docked at different ports on Sunday, bringing the major footfall.
The passengers of the MV Celebrity Eclipse, SY Sea Cloud Spirit, and MV AIDAPerla received a warm welcome upon their arrival.
All the passengers boarded the vessels received with a plethora of experiences as they got an opportunity to explore the pristine beaches, lush rainforests, and diverse hotspots of the country.
MV Celebrity Eclipse
MV Celebrity Eclipse docked at the Woodbridge Bay, bringing more than 2800 passengers to the country. The vessel is a Solstice-class cruise ship which is operated by Celebrity Cruises, a subsidiary of Royal Caribbean Group.
The vessel has a total of 16 decks and accommodates up to 2852 guests and a crew member of 1286. The cruise is 1,041ft (317m) in length, with a beam width of 121ft (36.8m) and a draught of 27ft.
The ship features an impressive array of attractions, including an art gallery, professional photo studios, exclusive dining options and much more.
SY Sea Cloud Spirit
SY Sea Cloud Spirit berthed at port of Cabrits on the same day. The vessel brought around 94 passengers to the country. All the visitors were warmly welcomed by the tourism authorities, showcasing them the island’s beauty and vibrant culture.
Sea Cloud Spirit is the newest in Sea Cloud Cruises fleet which is known for its diverse amenities and facilities.
MV AIDAPerla
MV AIDAPerla docked at the Roseau port, bringing over 3000 passengers to the country. The vessel is over 300 metres long.
The 18-deck cruise ship has around 1643 cabins and the capacity to accommodate around 3286 passengers. The vessel is known for its diverse facilities, including a private sun deck, a separate sleeping area, two bathrooms, a walk-in closet and much more.
14 vessels docked at the Nature Island
Over 14 cruises docked at different ports of the country the last week from 25th November to 1st December, 2024. The passengers explored the beauty of the Nature Island including, lush rainforests, cascading waterfalls, and vibrant culture.
The authorities have expressed excitement at welcoming thousands of visitors to the country, aiming to surpass the number in the ongoing month of December.
