Jamaica: Citizens of St James follows COVID-19 protocols to mitigate the spread

The list has been introduced by the government of Jamaica of the places that are being available for the sectors affected by the COVID-19 pandemic at subsidized rates.

Olivia Grange, Minister of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sports, told the senate that in the hope of reopening the whole entertainment sector. For which the government will provide the venues to these sectors that will be installed with all COVID-19 safety protocols.

Olivia Grange said that those venues that the government has selected included facilities at Independence Park, the Port Royal Entertainment Zone, Trelawny Stadium, including Fort Rocky and Fort Charles, as well as Seville Heritage Park. They were then settling the arrangements while maintaining meetings with stakeholders for the reopening of the entire entertainment sector and would make the proper announcements shortly.

She said that there also are plans to declare additional entertainment zones and venues which in preparation for the reopening of the broader entertainment sector. The Andrew Holness government had been engaged in consultations with members of the industry on the prevailing health conditions within the country also because of the specific protocols that might need to be used for particular activities.

Olivia Grange that the majority of the members of the sector understand they were in touch. She stayed in touch with the grassroots. She stayed in touch with practitioners in the business. They would continue to remain focused, and they would reopen, but they were going to guarantee they reopened at a time when it was safe to do so.
