Cricket West Indies announces squad for T20 World Cup 2024, set to claim trophy
The Cricket West Indies unveiled the 15-member squad that will be competing for the 2024 edition of ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.

The Cricket West Indies unveiled the 15-member squad that will be competing for the 2024 edition of ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. During the announcement ceremony, the selectors of the team aim to display their exceptional performance with both bat and ball and claim the title of T20 World Cup 2024.
The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 is even more special for the players of the West Indies Cricket team as six Caribbean nations are co-hosting the entire tournament along with the USA. Therefore, the selectors and players are wishing to lift the trophy in their own nation.

Rovman Powell has been named the captain of the team, and Alzarri Joseph has been selected as the vice-captain of the team.
Moreover, most of the selected players of the West Indies are currently in India and are playing at the Indian Premier League 2024. The players such as Rovman Powell, Shimron Hetmyer, Nicholas Pooran, Andre Russell have shown exceptional performance during this year’s IPL which has made the selectors optimistic about their choices and has enhanced their confidence on claiming victory at the World Cup.
The team have also included the all-rounders and big hitters like Nicholas Pooran, Andre Russell, Shimron Hetmyer, Jason Holder, Rutherford and Shepherd. The selection of these players will widen the batting options for the team so that they can put a strong competition against the opponents.
Moreover, the selectors have also included Shamar, who is also all set to play his first World Cup, and the fans have expressed utmost faith in him following his excellent bowling figures, i.e., 7 wickets by giving away 68 runs in the Gabba test against Australia.
