34-year-old pleaded guilty to robbing $55 in St Vincent and the Grenadines
A 34-year-old maintenance technician of St Vincent and the Grenadines pleaded guilty to the offence of stealing $55 in cash at Lowmans Windward.

St Vincent and the Grenadines: A 34-year-old maintenance technician pleaded guilty to the offence of stealing $55 in cash at Lowmans Windward. The accused was charged with a penalty of $500.00 ECC or else he will have to serve two weeks in prison.
The suspect has been identified as Alex Ells and the incident is reported to have taken place on 31st March 2024 in Dumbarton, Mesopotamia.
As per the details shared by the authorities, Ellis opened a wooden door on the southern side of the building to enter the Dumbarton Agriculture Station office. He entered the place as a trespasser and conducted a robbery of $55 in cash.
Subsequently, the officers were informed about the incident and they started their process of investigation and arrested Ells on 8th April 2024 for the offence of burglary.
Following that, he also appeared at the Mesopotamia Magistrate Court where he pleaded guilty to the amended charge of theft.
The magistrate sentenced him to six months on bond under the condition that he had to pay a default penalty of $500.00 ECC or else he would be imprisoned for two weeks.
This incident received different opinions and views from the residents through their comments on social media accounts. Some people appreciated the authorities for punishing him for the offence he committed. Meanwhile, other people stated that there was no need to drag the case, it could have been solved easily.
One person commented, “Now what he did was wrong but this could have been quickly worked out rather than trying to publicly embarrass someone, everyone slips up one way or another.”
Another person commented the following “Great efforts by authorities, doesn’t matter how big the crime is, a culprit should be given punishment and severe actions should be taken against the culprits.
The residents of the community have requested the administration of the country to implement stringent measures in order to tackle increasing crime rates in the nation.
