St Vincent and the Grenadines: Trio arrested for conducting robbery at school

Kingstown, St Vincent and the Grenadines: A trio who conducted the robbery at St Clair Dacon Secondary School has been arrested and is expected to appear before the Kingstown Magistrate Court.

The trio has been identified as Omarie Jacobs, a 20-year-old labourer, Romano Jacobs, a 22-year-old labourer and Jeron Cockburn, a 25-year-old labourer of lauders. All three men have been charged with the offences of Burglary.

As per the details shared by the authorities, the trio went to the Secondary school canteen as trespassers and stole several valuable items, amounting to $1,150.00 ECC.

During the evening time, the trio again entered the same building and entered the private property by forcefully opening a wooden door on the southern side of the building. As soon as the thieves entered the area, they held burglary in that spot as well and stole several valuable items whose total amount was valued at $2,586.55 EC. As per the reports, the property belongs to the 62-year-old vendor of diamonds.

Subsequently, the authorities were informed about the burglary and as soon as the officers received the news, they immediately responded to the matter by arresting the trio.

The citizens of the community raised their concerns about the poor security system in the school. They requested the administration of the island nation to consider this incident a serious issue and asked them to implement stringent measures, to ensure the safety and security of the nation and its citizens.

The authorities have ensured that they are prioritizing the security of the citizens over anything else. They have added that the administration is making plans and policies with a vision to curb increasing crime rates. They are focusing on making St Vincent and the Grenadines a nation with a low crime rate.

Several residents of the community took to their social media accounts and expressed their views and opinions on the news. One person commented, “It is so disheartening that nobody is safe anywhere, crime is taking place in schools, even at one’s own house as well.”
