Melissa Skerrit donates sports equipments to sports tourism, Roseau Central tennis program
Parliamentary Representative of Roseau Central Constituency – Melissa Poponne-Skerrit has donated the sports equipments to sports tourism and Roseau Central tennis program.

Dominica: The Parliamentary Representative of Roseau Central Constituency – Melissa Poponne-Skerrit has donated the sports equipments to sports tourism and Roseau Central tennis program.
She was accompanied by Avandale Paul and Lloyd Paul.
She asked the ladies of Dominica to get ready to join me on the courts.
“I have always made clear my intention to revive lawn tennis in the city and to develop sports tourism as it is sure to foster economic growth. My vision has found favor with a few diasporans, namely Avandale Paul and Lloyd Paul who, upon hearing my plans, networked with colleagues and donated tennis equipment to the sports tourism program and Roseau Central tennis program,” Parliamentary Representative notified.
The handover ceremony was conducted on March 11, 2022 (Friday). These items were delivered by Lloyd Paul, along with the Vice President of the Dominica Tennis Association, Mr. Andrew Carter, and Mr. Derrick Alexander, Sports Director for Roseau Central.
While extending the thanks, the Parliamentary Representative mentioned, “I would like to sincerely thank our benefactors for their selfless gesture to our sports program namely Mr. Joe Messmer of Columbia Country Club in Maryland, Mr. James Armstrong, Mr. Dunbar Henri and Mr. Larry Bailey. This will certainly jumpstart our plans to develop tennis not just for sports tourism but also by providing training sessions for school children.”
Melissa Skerrit was praised for this donation towards the sport development. Many Dominicans lauded her for contributing towards the upliftment of sports in the region.
One of the residents of the Commonwealth of Dominica stated, “Positive vibes!! Keep it up Melissa Poponne-Skerrit. I must honestly say that you working tirelessly!! Blessings!”
Yet another outlined, “You never seizes to amaze us First Lady Hon. Melissa Poponne-Skerrit. Keep up the great work. God bless you,” and the third added, “Truly excited, i played before at belfast. I am looking to revive whatever game I have left”.
