Tropical Storm Bret nears Barbados, anticipates heavy rainfall and strong gusts

Barbados: The Forecast authorities of Barbados have recently issued an update regarding the current location of Tropical Storm Bret, very close to Barbados, and predicted heavy rainfall and strong winds in portions of the Lesser Antilles later today and tonight, on 22 July 2023.

Whereas it has also been predicted that Tropical Depression Four is moving fast towards the West-Northwestward over the tropical central Atlantic.

The recent updates were shared at 2 pm AST (Atlantic Standard Time), mentioning that Tropical Strom Bret is located dangerously close to Barbados. The authorities have issued warnings to the residents and citizens of the island country and advised them to take precautionary measures in order to stay safe and secure.

In addition to this, it was also claimed that Tropical Strom Bret and Tropical Depression Four has no direct threat to Trinidad and Tobago; however, the forecasting authorities have also put several neighbour Caribbean countries on Storm Watch, including Saint Lucia, Commonwealth of Dominica, Martinique, Barbados, St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

As per the recent updates, all the mentioned countries are on Hurricane Watch for the next 24 hours as there are possibilities that Storm Bret can affect the regions. The progress and live locations of Bret and Depression Four are being continuously monitored and tracked by the Watch authorities, said reports.

Furthermore, as per the latest information, the location of Bret was recorded and tracked at the latitude 13.4 North and longitude 58.9 West. The new movement was tracked towards just south of west or 265 degrees with wind speed at 65 mph (miles per hour) which was at 14 mph earlier and expected to move forward at even higher speeds, said the forecast track.

The centre of Tropical Storm Bret is also anticipated to move across the Lesser Antilles by the evening and later night towards the Eastern and Central Caribbean Sea between Friday and Saturday. Bret is expected to maintain the top winds speed near 65 mph and is likely to dissipate over the Caribbean Sea by late Saturday night or early Sunday.
