Saint Lucia’s Orlando Restaurant & Bar recognized at World Culinary Awards 2024

Orlando’s Restaurant & Bar has been named Saint Lucia’s Best Restaurant at the 2024 World Culinary Awards. This recognition on an international platform marks a significant milestone for not only the owners but the entire nation, aiming to celebrate Caribbean cuisine made with delicious local flavours and ingredients.

Following this significant recognition, an ecstatic Chef Orlando Satchell expressed gratitude and stated that as a restaurant, their main aim is to showcase the best of Saint Lucia, using local ingredients, supporting local farmers and vendors.

He added that people often recognize the Chef but forget the team behind working on it. Therefore, he acknowledged all his team members and stated “I want to thank my team Andrina, Ms. Leo, I’m really about the staff.”

While shedding light on the rules of the kitchen, he stated that the first and foremost step, they follow is that they cook with love, And, secondly if anyone is in a bad mood, they stay out of the kitchen in order to avoid serving a poor dish to their guests.

Moreover, Chef Orlando Satchell stated that they are an independent restaurant who are serving Caribbean cuisine, showcasing local flavours by working collaboratively and cooking with utmost love which make their dishes exciting and delicious for the visitors.

He further asserted that this award also raises a hope among other independent restaurants that they can be recognized as well. All they need to do is make every possible effort in order to make an experience like no other for their guests.

The Saint Lucia Tourism Authority also extended congratulations to Chef Orlando Satchel of Orlando’s Restaurant on securing a World Culinary Award at the 5th staging of the annual event.

While lauding the place, the owners asserted that Orlando’s Restaurant showcases the island’s rich culinary heritage and vibrant culture through cuisines blended with local flavours and fresh ingredients.

World Culinary Awards Ceremony 2024 took place at Summersalt, Dubai in the United Arab Emirates on 2^nd October 2024. This award ceremony celebrates excellence in the culinary tourism industry and recognizes creativity and talent.
