Saint Lucian PM Philip J Pierre co-moderates SDGs 2023 Leaders’ Dialogue 2
Philip J Pierre, Prime Minister of Saint Lucia, participated in Sustainable Development Goals 2023 Leaders’ Dialogue 2.

Castries, Saint Lucia: Philip J Pierre, Prime Minister of Saint Lucia, participated in Sustainable Development Goals 2023 Leaders’ Dialogue 2. The PM attended the meeting during the sidelines of the 78th UNGA, which is scheduled from September 19 to 26, 2023.
Prime Minister Pierre co-moderated the Summit with the President of the Republic of Poland – Andrzej Duda. The Summit was organised under the theme ‘Building resilience and leaving no one behind.’
The update regarding the same was shared by Prime Minister through his official Facebook handle. He noted, “This morning, I co-moderated the SDG Summit 2023, Leaders’ Dialogue 2 with Andrzej Duda, President of the Republic of Poland under the theme “Building resilience and leaving no one behind”.”
Highlighting the major focus of Saint Lucian government, PM Pierre stated that for Saint Lucia the changing risk landscape requires building resilience across – social, economic, political, financial and ecological systems.
“As a Government, our focus is to promote equity and enhance the well-being and capacity of poor and vulnerable households within Saint Lucia. All of this is aimed at protecting their consumption; investing in their future; and contributing meaningfully to national sustainable development,” PM mentioned on this official social media.
He further assured the general public that he and his governance will work to strengthen the solidarity and cooperation.
The Facebook update read, “We therefore must strengthen solidarity and cooperation among nations; to ensure that no one, no citizen and no ecosystem is left behind. What we need is action and the commitment of those who have the capacity to deliver. The time is now to give real meaning to building resilience and leaving no one behind.”
This representation of Prime Minister Philip J Pierre was lauded by the locals of Saint Lucia and many of them even took the comment section of his post to express their views.
One of the local users named, Jacinta Bakie, commented, “Proud of you my Prime Minister may God continue to guide and protect you in your deliberations on climate change.” Another user named Magdelene Daniel wrote, “So so very nice of you Mr Philip J. Pierre. We love our Prime Minister.” Third one stated, “Proud of you my PM.”
Prime Minister Philip J Pierre is currently in New York City, the United States of America to attend the 78th United Nations General Assembly Meeting. He will be addressing the global leaders there.
In his absence, Dr Ernest Hilaire, Deputy Prime Minister of Saint Lucia, will serve as the Prime Minister.
