Usain Bolt proposes to Kasi Bennett during 40th birthday celebration in Kingston

Jamaica: Sprinter Usain Bolt proposed to his longtime partner Kasi Bennett during his 40th birthday celebration at One Belmont in Kingston on Friday, August 21. He got down on one knee and presented her with a five-carat engagement ring as family and friends watched.

Bennett accepted the proposal during the rooftop celebration. The engagement was also shared on social media, where the couple received congratulations from fans and supporters.

Bolt and Bennett have been together for more than a decade. The couple became publicly known as a pair in 2016. Bolt had kept much of his personal life away from the public, but he and Bennett started to appear more openly together around the time of the Rio Olympics.

Bolt and Bennett have three children. Their daughter, Olympia Lightning Bolt, was born in May 2020. Later in 2021, they were blessed with twin sons, Thunder Bolt and Saint Leo Bolt.

Bennett is an entrepreneur who has worked in marketing and business development. She has been associated with Elevate Marketing House and is also the founder of Project Kase, which is an organisation focused on supporting children in Jamaica. 

Bolt turned 40 on August 21, 2026, He was born in Sherwood Content, Trelawny, in 1986 and became one of the best-known athletes through his sprinting career. He won eight Olympic gold medals and remains the world record holder in the men’s 100m and 200m, with times of 9.58 seconds and 19.19 seconds respectively.

Bolt won Olympic 100m and 200m titles at three consecutive Games in 2008, 2012 and 2016. He retired from athletics in 2017.

Bolt had spoken about starting a family with Bennett before they welcomed their first child. In 2018, he said he wanted to have a family but had waited because he wanted to make sure he was with the right person. The couple announced Bennett's pregnancy in January 2020, and their daughter Olympia Lightning Bolt was born in May that year.
