Castries, Saint Lucia: Miss Bounty Rum, Shan Lucien was crowned the winner of the 70th National Carnival Queen Pageant. As per the reports, she set the stage on fire and impressed all the judges and audiences with her elegance, grace and charm.

Shan Lucien defeated 6 other contestants to claim the title of the 70th National Carnival Queen Pageant. Menella Sebaram, Anneka Thompson and Tunisia President were announced as the first, second and third runners up respectively.

Also, Shan Lucien’s entire performance in the pageant was lauded by many who called her a perfect blend of beauty with brains. She performed in all the activities with utmost intelligence and grace, which led to her winning three other tags as well. The titles which were won by her includes, Best First Interview, Best Second Interview and Miss Congeniality.

Her journey in this pageant was full of glitz, glamour and growth, it was her unwavering dedication which led her winning a cash prize of $25,000. Along with that, she also won 1 year treatment of facials or laser treatment from SkinEnvy, 3 nights stay at BodyHoliday, 1 fully paid scholarship from the Moroccan Embassy, a diamond necklace compliments of Diamonds International and 1 custom dress designed by Jaeylu Altier.

Notably, the 70th edition of the National Carnival Queen Pageant was held at the Pavilion on Rodney Bay on Saturday. Each contestant performed gracefully during this entire event, which was appreciated by the Prime Minister of Saint Lucia, Philip J Pierre.

He not only congratulated Shan Lucien on claiming the title but also extended gratitude to all the contestants for contributing to the success of Lucian Carnival. He remarked that these ladies have made the entire nation proud. He further urged all the contestants to continue to pursue their dreams and contribute to the country’s development.

“Congratulations once again Miss Lucien and I wish you all the best during your reign,” noted PM Pierre.

The 70thedition of Carnival Queen Pageant was overall a beautiful evening which was enjoyed by all. The event was a beautiful celebration of empowering women, beauty and promoting the talent, abilities and vibrant spirit of the ladies of the nation. Along with that, it also fostered the rich cultural heritage of the country.
