Castries, Saint Lucia: Philip J Pierre, Prime Minister of Saint Lucia, who also serves as the Minister for Finance, Economic Development and the Youth Economy, informed the general public of the nation about the Throne Speech from the Governor General.

According to the update shared by the minister, the speech will be presented to the Parliament of Saint Lucia on April 25, 2023 (Tuesday). The scheduled time for the meet is 10 am. The prime minister took his social media account to share the details regarding the meeting with each and every Saint Lucian.

He wrote, “The Parliament of Saint Lucia will meet on Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at 10:00 AM to receive the Throne Speech from the His Excellency, the Governor General.”

Furthermore, he took the platform to convey that he will be presenting the Budget address on the evening of the same date (April 23). The social media post by Prime Minister Pierre read, “I am diligently working on the Budget Address, which I will deliver at 5:00 PM on the same day.”

While showing their interest towards the meeting, the citizens and residents of Saint Lucia thanked the Prime Minister and the Office of the Prime Minister for sharing the advanced notice. One of the Saint Lucian users named Juliana St Edward commented, “Thanks for the advanced notice, Hon. Prime Minister.”

Additionally, many others lauded Prime Minister for his continuous efforts towards the growth and development of the nation. Another social media user from Saint Lucia, named Corina Edward, said, “My Prime Minister, I love you. Keep on working for the people of St Lucia.” The third one commented, “God bless my prime Minister thanks for the reminder.”

Earlier, the Throne Speech was presented by the Acting Governor-General, Cyril Errol Melchiades Charles, on the occasion of the opening of the second session of the Twelfth Parliament of Saint Lucia. The major topics addressed by the Governor General included Economic Transformation, the Caribbean Court of Justice, Constitutional Reforms, Strengthening Regional Institutions, Regional Trade and Travels and Good Governance and Anti-Corruption.
