Premier Brantley praises Spanish softball community

St Kitts and Nevis: The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Aviation of St Kitts and Nevis and Premier of Nevis – Mark Brantley has expressed pleasure of meeting to the Spanish community at the Ramsbury Playing Field on March 13, 2022.

“Truly a pleasure to spend some time this morning with the Spanish community at the Ramsbury Playing Field as they battle for softball supremacy between St Kitts and Nevis,” premier of Nevis outlined.

He further extended his thanks to Sports Minister Eric Evelyn, Director of Sports Jamir Claxton and the area representative Spencer Brand. He also thanked the Spanish Community.

“Thanks to Minister of Sports Eric Evelyn, Director of Sports Jamir Claxton and area representative the Honorable Spencer Brand for their assistance in making this competition possible. Huge thanks to the Spanish community for coming out in large numbers to support,” Brantley further added.

He concluded, Honored to have been able to hand out some tokens of appreciation to long serving players and stalwarts in that community and to wish the people of the Dominican Republic: Feliz Día de la Independencia!”

St Kitts and Nevis authority has been specially focusing on the sports development across the federation. The public as well as private schools, across the nation, have been conducting sports meets and in April 2022, the federation has been planning to host “Mini-Olympics”.

Recently, Ivor Walters Primary School conducted the Sports Day. The meet was attended Premier Brantley, he notified that he is delighted to attend the sports day of the Ivor Walters Primary School on Wednesday. He further expressed the joy to see people enjoying the track events.

The public and private schools have commenced the individual sports from early March, following the announcement by the government of St Kitts and Nevis.

The government announced that Nevis’s private and public schools would begin the preparation for the annual Inter-Primary School Championship by conducting individual sports meets. It also ordered to follow all COVID-19 related health protocols as the threat of the infection has not vanished completely.
