Grenada unveils squad for Windward Islands Championship, Know players & schedule

Grenada: The Ministry of Youth and Sports of Grenada unveils the squad of the Grenada Women’s Senior Team for the Windward Islands Senior Women’s Cricket Championship. It is to be noted that matches are scheduled to take place from 11th February to 17th February 2024 in the nation. 

Dominica, Grenada, Saint Lucia, St Vincent and the Grenadines will go head-to-head in the Spice Isle. Saint Lucia will be aiming to defend their title, while the Dominicans, Grenadians and Vincentians will be aiming to dethrone them. Notably, the teams will compete in both the editions of the Women’s Super-50 Cup and T20 Blaze.

The players that have been selected in the squad in Grenada‘s team include Afy Fletcher, Anisha Thomas, Cassie Williams, Rachael Francis, Theresa Thomas, Brittney Pascal, Dellisha Francois, Aria Fortune, Shantan Charles, Janel Charles, Taylor Dickson, Carena Noel, Rackel Williams and Holy Charles.

Afy Fetcher has been named the captain of the team, and Anisha Thomas has been selected as the vice-captain of the team. Meanwhile, Lydia Edgar has been named the team manager. Troy George and Afya Campbell have been selected as the Head Coach and Assistant Coach of the team, respectively.

50-over matches

Sunday, 11th February – Two games will be played, one between Grenada and St Vincent at La Sagesse at 9:30 am and the other game will be conducted between St Lucia and Dominica at Beausejour at 9:30 am.

Monday, 12th February- Two matches will be held, one between Grenada and Dominica at La Sagesse at 9:30 am and another match will be conducted between St Lucia and St Vincent and the Grenadines at Beausejour at 9:30 am.

Wednesday, 14th February- Two games will be played, one game will be played between Grenada and St Lucia at La Sagesse at 9:30 am and the other between Dominica and St Vincent and the Grenadines at Progress Park at 9:30 am. 

T20 Matches

Friday, 16th February- The first game will be played between the 1st and 4th place holders at La Sagesse at 10:00 a.m., and the other game will be conducted between the 2nd and 3rd place holders at the same ground at 2:00 p.m. 

Saturday, 17th February- The first game will be the third-place playoff, which will be held at La Sagesse at 10:00 a.m., and the finale will be conducted on the same ground at 2:00 p.m.
