Dominica shines in AFAR travel magazine, must visit Caribbean destination

The nature island, Dominica leaves no place behind to leave its impression. This time again, the country caught all the attention and got featured by the AFAR magazine, in the list of must visit places in the Caribbean in 2024.

Roseau, Dominica: Dominica known as nature’s island, leaves no place behind to mark its impression. This time again, the country caught all the attention and got featured in the AFAR magazine, among the list of must-visit places in the Caribbean in 2024.

AFAR is the travel magazine which inspires and guides travelers to explore the areas in a better way. This magazine even has been awarded twice as the best travel magazine in America.

In the feature, the magazine highlighted the aim of Dominica to be the world’s first climate-resilient nation by 2030. Such a highlight even marks a key note on the work being done by the government towards fulfilling the goal.

Each step being taken, whether eco-tourism or Hurricane Maria recovery actions, is directed towards the accomplishment of this goal. Every development in terms of tourism and providing better facilities to the citizens is a move towards overall growth and development.

The Waitukubuli Sea Trail, recently launched in Dominica, is the first dedicated sea Kayaking route in the Caribbean. The trail can take the paddlers along a 40 mile stretch of coastline. 

Not only this, the excitement package is yet not revealed, however it will soon be unveiled as the country is on its way to introduce the World’s longest cable car system. This would provide the visitors easy access to the Boiling Lake. With this, the 4.1 mile route from Roseau Valley to the Boiling Lake would probably be covered in just 20 minutes.

Along with the natural beauty and adventures included in the country, luxurious stays in the country adds a unique feature to specialties in the country. The Fort Young Hotel, a historic place to stay, is wrapping up with the $18 million renovation, which would get completed with a rooftop wellness garden and a rum and wine cellar. This would feature ocean-aged rum.

Under the feature, the mention of Secret Bay as the best suitable place to stay. 

“Secret Bay is committed to sustainability and preserving its surroundings, from the villas to the tree house-style spa,” featured the magazine.

Secret Bay recently unveiled eight new villas and an energy-efficient funicular for views overlooking the rainforest, and a chef’s table experience set in its organic gardens.
