Dominica: 835 candidates to appear for Grade 6 National Assessment test, Melissa Skerrit extends best wishes

Roseau, Dominica: The country is all ready to conduct the annual Grade 6 National Assessment Test 2024 under the flagship of the Ministry of Education, Human Resource Planning, Vocational Training, and National Excellence. Minister Melissa Skerrit has extended the best wishes to all the 835 candidates appearing for the test on May 23 and 24 in Dominica.
The Minister of Housing, Land & Urban Development, Melissa Skerrit, shared her good luck wishes to the class appearing for the assessment test today and tomorrow. Taking to her social media accounts, the minister stated, “The best of luck to my National Assessment Champions class tomorrow!! You’ve got this!! May God bless you all!”.
Minister Melissa has always been motivating the students to do well in all fields, be it education, sports and creative aspects. In the post shared, the minister can be seen interacting with the students in a school, the exchange of encouraging words has brought bright smiles on the face of the students. She also distributed kits to students as a token of love and good luck.
The exam will commence at 7:45 AM on May 23 and May 24. On the first day the students will undergo language arts and social sciences and on the second day Mathematics & Science & Technology assessment will be taken.
The Ministry of Education has released the data stating that 835 candidates, including 412 girls and 423 boys will appear in the Grade 6 National Assessment test 2024. Also, the ministry has finalised 60 centres scattered throughout the nation, so that the candidates can easily have access to the examination centres.
Robert Guiste, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Human Resource Planning, Vocational Training, and National Excellence shared that the educators and administrators are well prepared to execute the exam successfully. They have been provided trainings to both students and educators so that the assessment can be conducted with confidence and ease.
The Ministry has extended well wishes to all the students sitting for the exam and have requested the parents to not enter any testing centres to ensure safe and smooth conduct of exam.
