Dakota Ditcheva carried on the family’s legacy, becoming the second champion from the family after her mother.
Dakota Ditcheva became the first British woman to win MMA world title, defeating Thaila Santos, the former UFC WFLY title contender on Friday.
Her impactful performance to stop Santos in the second round made her the historic winner of Professional Fighters League title. She won $1m (£785,000) prize money for her outstanding victory in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Following the historic victory by Dakota Ditcheva in MMA, the fans flooded the social media with the congratulatory messages, referring her as the ‘Best Striker’ in women.
Dakota Ditcheva’s Family legacy
Dakota Ditcheva is the daughter of Lisa Howarth, the renowned kickboxing, karate, and Muay Thai star. Ditcheva was a junior amateur Muay Thai champion before making her professional MMA debut in 2019.
The World Champion said, “This is more than destiny or legacy.” She added that this victory shed light on her commitment and passion to go beyond and silence the critiques for their baseless and negative comments.

Dakota Ditcheva ended the competition with a flurry of body shots in the second round to secure the Professional Fighters League (PFL) title.
Sharing the details on her fight, Dakota Ditcheva praised her opponent and called her a tough girl who gave her the strong fight. Highlighting about her dedication to win the championship, Dakota noted that she has worked really hard in order to turn her aspirations into reality.
“I worked so hard. My team knew what I was capable of. Right from the beginning of this season, if I’d got her in the 1st round, I would have done the same thing.”
Most Testing Camp of My Life: Dakota Ditcheva
The newly World Champion, Dakota Ditcheva called Professional Fighters League (PFL), the most testing camp of her life which has produced her best performance on an international platform.
She also thanked her fans for all the love and support that she has been receiving on the messages.
“I’ve got messages coming out my ears so sorry if I just like it or ignore it. I can’t keep up lol but I appreciate the love more than anything,” stated Dakota Ditcheva.
