Around 50% of international visitors coming to Barbados are from UK, says BTMI
Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc. (BTMI) has shared the statistics about the visitors from the United Kingdom who arrived in the country during the first half of the year.

Barbados: Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc. (BTMI) has shared the statistics about the visitors from the United Kingdom who arrived in the country during the first half of the year. The statistics showed that around 50 percent of the international visitors were from the UK, making it one of the largest single-source markets.
The Tourism Marketing Inc. of Barbados mentioned that the country witnessed around 236,659 international visitors during the period of January to June 2022. Out of the total, just under 50 percent of the stayover visitors – 100,702 were from the United Kingdom (UK).
To increase the number of stayover visitors to Barbados, the authorities have been increasing the flights towards the country. British Airways has announced that their larger Boeing 777-300 aircraft will fly from Heathrow on October 30, 2022. The total capacity of the aircraft will be around 300. This takes the total count for winter 2022-2023 to 11,205 seats.
Winter 2022/23 Gatwick route returns (5x weekly) on 336-seat Boeing 777-200, now extending to eight weekly (5+3) over Easter. IAG partner airline, Aer Lingus, restarts Manchester to Bridgetown from November 2, 2022, through April 30, 2023; also from Manchester, Virgin Atlantic restarts MAN-BGI on October 31, 2022.
Additionally, British Airways has announced that it will start extra 10 flight services between London Gatwick and Barbados for next Easter, from March 26 to April 16, 2023. The additional flights will operate from London Gatwick to Bridgetown on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. These three flights will bring approximately 3,336 UK stayover visitors to Barbados during the festival period.
