WASCO Update: Water interruption in Castries and Ciceron

The Water and Sewerage Company Inc. (WASCO) informed the public about regarding the damaged line on Upper Chausee Road on January 8, 2024.

Castries, Saint Lucia: The Water and Sewerage Company Inc. (WASCO) informed the public regarding the damaged line on Upper Chausee Road on January 8, 2024.

It is to be noted that the areas which are affected are mentioned below.

– Rose Hill

– Lower Mon Du Don

– Lower Entrepot

– Piat’s Gap

– Lower la Pansee

– Patterson Gap

– Lower Sunbilt

– Lower Cedars

– Lastic Hill

– Lower Morne Road

– Marchand

Moreover, the other communities within the City of Castries basin are also affected. WASCO is looking to restore full water supply within the next 24 hours.

CICERON AND ENVIRONS

WASCO also informed the public that due to a damaged main line on the road leading to the Theobalds Treatments Plants in Ciceron, the water supply will be affected in the following areas such as Coubaril, Ciceron, communities along the Millenium Highway, Owen King EU Hospital, Upper La Toque, Bois Cachet and parts of Morne.

Noting this, a crew has been dispatched to perform the necessary repair work. Additionally, motorists and pedestrians travelling near the work site are advised to exercise caution and follow traffic instructions which are allocated by the site personnel.

Further, the work is anticipated to be completed by the end of the day. Status updates will be expected in due course. Also, WASCO also extended their apology for the inconvenience to the people.

As per reports, the repair work is currently ongoing, and it is expected to be completed by today, i.e., January 9, 2024.

It is to be noted that Water and Sewarage Company Inc. Saint Lucia took to their official social media handle (Facebook) to share an update on the water supply. Many people shared their frustration due to the water interruption through their comments.

While reacting to the post, one such user named Tamara Mathurin wrote, “Need to add vigie to the list no water.”

However, many users from different constituencies also shared the problem of water interruption in their regions. Some of the comments read as follows;

“And Castries basin cause we on St. Louis St have no water.”

“Grande Riviere, Gros Islet has no water from yesterday morning.”

“Corinth grande riviere affected DDD as well.”

“So wtf Ciceron has no water from last night??? Choopz I self fedup with y’all! Real!”
