St Kitts Nevis Association of Persons with Disabilities shares update on Sensitization Workshop
St Kitts Nevis Association of Persons with Disabilities recently shared an update regarding the ‘Sensitization Workshop’ hosted by the Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Ageing and Disabilities.

                                                    Basseterre, St Kitts and Nevis: St Kitts Nevis Association of Persons with Disabilities recently shared an update regarding the ‘Sensitization Workshop’ hosted by the Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Ageing and Disabilities.
As per the update by the St Kitts’ Ministry and the Association of Persons, the Sensitization Workshop emphasized the Discrimination and Inclusion held at the Newtown Community Centre. Janelle Lewis Tefarri (Permanent Secretary) open her welcoming remarks by highlighting the importance of Inclusion from all aspects to improve the lives of persons with disabilities. The changes can be done to benefit the entire community.
According to the ministry, Dionte Foster shared his personal story to bring more awareness and to inspire others to achieve their goals despite the challenges also, Tekwana Wallace shared her personal experience of how others treat her.
Additionally, the social media post by the association noted that Dr Glenville Liburd, Chair of the Community Based Rehabilitation Network, outlined the aim and strategy that works for persons with disabilities within the community to uplift the quality of life for people with disabilities and their families, meet their basic needs to ensure their Inclusion and participation.
In conclusion, coordinator for Disability Services (Maericia Browne) expressed the need for Constant Dialogue, that it would open the minds of individuals who are able to implement positive changes that impact daily lives.
“Nothing About us without us,” the authority mentioned.
