Barbados is just a few days away from celebrating the 58th anniversary of Independence on 30th November, 2024. The authorities have announced an exciting schedule of events, aiming to make the climax of independence celebrations an unforgettable experience for all the citizens of the country.
The 58th anniversary of the Independence Day will be conducted under the theme, “Stronger Together with Peace, Love and Unity.” This main focus of this theme is to unite people and promote brotherhood among the citizens of the island nation.
As per the schedule of events and activities unveiled by the authorities, the authorities will host the Genealogy Marketplace today, i.e. 23rd November, 2024.
The Genealogy Marketplace is the cultural event which will be hosted at St. Michael by the Barbados Archives Department. This event will be conducted with a vision to offer a unique combination of education, culture and community bonding to the attendees.
This event will play a huge role in uniting people from the country together to celebrate their roots and explore the rich history of the island nation.
The day will conclude with National Armoury Tour Rum Tasting and Services One day. This event will offer the interested citizens with an opportunity to explore the historic National Armoury on a guided tour. Along with that, the citizens will also get a chance to enjoy free rum tastings, immersing attendees in the vibrant offerings of the country.
On Sunday, 24th November, 2024, the authorities will host a National Thanksgiving Service that will be held at Garfield Sobers Sports Complex, Wildey, St Michael. For the same, the authorities have extended an invitation to all the citizens to come together to extend their gratitude for the blessings they share and the future they will build as one people and one nation.
Barbados will mark the official opening of the Marcus Garvey Amphitheatre on Thursday, 28th November, 2024 at Queen’s Park, St. Michael. It will be followed by the Independence Concert which will take place at the Golden Square Freedom Park, St. Michael on the same day.
The authorities have ensured to offer a fantastic evening of music, song, dance and spoken word to all the attendees in celebration of their special occasion, Independence Day.
The citizens of the country will begin the celebration of their special day with an Independence Parade on 30th November, 2024. After that, the citizens will get a chance to enjoy the thrilling and exciting game in the Final of the Prime Minister’s Cup 2024.
