Castries, Saint Lucia: HelpAWS, the dog shelter of Castries, Saint Lucia, has welcomed Herbie and shared a social media post in which the little pup introduced itself.
“Well, hello there! I’m Herbie. A little about me: I’m a laid-back, chill, go-with-the-flow guy. Nothing ruffles my feathers too much. I just like to wake up in the morning and see what the day has in store for me. I don’t require much out of life – just a safe and happy home, some good food in my belly, a little playtime, and a soft, warm place to lay my head at the end of the day,” the introductory post by the organisation mentioned.
The post further informed that “I L-O-V-E meeting new people and animals! I don’t discriminate when it comes to finding a playmate – adults, children, dogs, cats,… it doesn’t matter to me how many legs you have or what breed you are, just as long as you want to hang out and have some fun.”
As per the post, it further said, “I’ve been told I am quite handsome, and, at the risk of sounding conceited, I would tend to agree! People seem to love my colouring and markings – especially the spots on my left ear and the way my face is ½ brown, ½ white, which makes my nose even more boopable! The word “adorable” tends to get used a lot around me. I mean, who would disagree with a face like mine.”
It added that to be completely honest, I am a pretty perfect pupper, if I do say so myself! If I have one flaw, I guess it would be that I enjoy digging holes, or at least I did when I was living at the HelpAWS shelter in St Lucia. Have you ever dug a hole and just sat in the cool dirt while the sun washed over you? It’s a magnificent feeling! I haven’t dug any new holes since I arrived in Canada, but it’s cold as heck outside, so I tend to do my business and get my brown & white little booty back into the warm house where I live with my foster family and fur friends.
It mentioned that my foster Mama says I am really smart and a joy to have around. I have to admit, living in a home instead of an abandoned building like where my siblings and I were found in St. Lucia is definitely a step up! I’m convinced I was born to be a house dog, not a lonely stray left to roam the streets like so many others. As much as I am enjoying being here with this family, I am REALLY ready for a family of my own! I am so looking forward to being someone’s best buddy!
“If that’s you, go to www.helpaws.com/adopt, where you can read my bio and submit an online adoption application. I can’t wait to meet you and start our life together!” the post outlined.
