PM Ralph Gonsalves congratulates Argyle International Airport on its 7th anniversary
The Prime Minister of St Vincent and the Grenadines, Dr Ralph Gonsalves extended congratulations to the management of Argyle International Airport on marking its 7th anniversary on Wednesday, 14th February, 2024.

St Vincent and the Grenadines: The Prime Minister of St Vincent and the Grenadines, Dr Ralph Gonsalves extended congratulations to the management of Argyle International Airport on marking its 7th anniversary on Wednesday, 14th February 2024. The airport has always been focused on providing efficient and excellent services to its visitors.
The actual construction of the airport began in August 2008 and it was completed and commenced its first operation in the year 2017. AIA has attracted many visitors over the years due to its modern facilities and excellent services.

The airport is situated about 5.17 miles from Kingstown and it has the capacity to accommodate 1.2 million passengers.
While shedding light on the contribution of the airport, PM Gonsalves stated that βthe Argyle International Airport has contributed immensely towards the alteration of the structural nature and functioning of our economy.β
PM Gonsalves also noted the significant increase in the number of tourists passing through Argyle International Airport over the years.
He also shed light on the benefits received in the export and import business because of the Argyle International Airport. He said that the airport has contributed to the export of fish, fruits and vegetables. He also added that it has made the importation easier and cheaper for many essential commodities.
βSaint Vincent and the Grenadines would be in a very terrible and backward stated without the Argyle International Airport,β noted PM Gonsalves.
PM congratulated all those people working at the Argyle International Airport and said that this year they will continue to achieve greater heights. The Argyle International Airport currently serves flights for international tours including Caribbean Airlines which has a direct connection from New York, American Airlines from Miami, Virgin Atlantic from London, Air Canada from Toronto and Conviasa from Venezuela.
This airport also serves as the base for regional and domestic flights including SVG Air, InterCaribbean and Adelphi Air.
