Valencia teen arrested for murder, possession of firearm & ammunition

Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago: A Valencia teen was arrested and charged with murder, possession of firearm and ammunition. He is supposed to appear at Court on April 2, 2024. 

As per reports, the suspect is recognised as a 17-year-old man. He was a resident of Valencia. The police revealed that he was arrested for the murder of Keron Gray. 

Gray was a 39-year-old resident of Cumuto, and he was killed on Sunday, March 17, in the Valencia district. On the day of the incident, police responded to a call from an anonymous person about a shooting in the concerned area. 

Upon arrival at the location, they found the body of the deceased lying motionless on the ground. While examining the body, they found several gunshot wounds about his body. 

He succumbed to those injuries. The reports further revealed that another man was also injured when an 187-year-old teen opened firing. 

The investigating officers began to search for the accused, which led to the suspect’s arrest on March 24. He was arrested by PC Morgan of the Valencia Police Post, and he was charged with several offences, such as, 

– Attempt to murder

– Possession of a Firearm 

– Possession of ammunition 

The charges were imposed on him on Thursday following the advice of the Director of Public Prosecutions, Roger Gaspard Sc, PC Hardath, and HB Region Two.

Moreover, the investigations were supervised by the ASP Victor, Inspector Ramjag, Inspector (Ag) Simon, Cpl Jones and Cpl Gordon, all of the Homicide Bureau of Investigations (HBI), and Region Two.

Additionally, with the rise in crime, the authorities are advised to take serious action and implement strict laws to tackle the problem of criminal activities in Trinidad and Tobago.
