Four men from Guyana are reported to be missing who left to go out at Sea on Thursday, 16th November 2023 in a “Drift Sein” boat to assist a fishing vessel in distress.

The missing persons are identified as:

– Hazrat Razack, also known as Denno, is a resident of Lot 742 Belle West Canal No.2, West Bank Demerara.

– Cyscil Persaud, also known as Dallas, is a Sister Village, West Bank Demerara resident.

– Vickram Singh, a resident of Longpond, West Bank Demerara.

– Worrin Yipsam, who is also known as Powas, is a resident of Herstelling, East Bank Demerara.

Hazena Bahadur, daughter of Hazrat Razack, mentioned in an interview that a boat called “Red Snapper,” in which her father has a share, ventured out to sea on 5th November.

Moreover, on 15th November, they sent a distress call reporting issues with the boat’s alternator and battery.

As mentioned by Hazena Bahadur, on 16th November, her father and his uncle Persaud left in Drift Sein boat along with the two fishermen, namely Vickram Singh and Worrin Yipsam, to sea with the alternator and battery to provide their help.

However, four days passed without any sign of the men returning home. Therefore, the relatives reported the missing case to the Police officials.

The officers investigated the matter and conducted a search, but they failed to locate the missing men.

As per the information, the relatives of the men became more worried when the Red Snapper boat returned.

Bahadur shared with one of the news channels that, when the relatives of the missing men asked the people on board about her father and the others, they were told that another fishing vessel had helped them fix their boat.

As per the information shared by Bahadur, she stated that they were told that Razack and the other men never showed up to offer their assistance.

Therefore, the family members of the missing men are really frustrated and worried as they are not able to find their loved ones.

It was also stated by Bahadur that it is still unclear what exactly happened to the men because they never reached the other boat. They didn’t even make it to their intended destination.

She added that, the coast guards are searching for the men as they have sent out smaller boats to the location to investigate the matter.
