T&T logs 183 new COVID-19 cases with 9 new death cases

Port of Spain: 183 new COVID-19  positive cases reported in Trinidad and Tobago. According to the statistics T&T experienced 9 deaths due to COVID-19 virus. The stats shows the constant positivity rate that country has been experiencing.

Till present total of 2,75,282 tests have been conducted in Trinidad and Tobago at both public and private facilities. In these total tests, 39,345 confirmed cases till present, out of which 32,454 have been fortunately recovered.

The total number of positive patients in Trinidad and Tobago had reached 5,781 in this 183 are new cases that had been reported recently in the last 24 hrs.

The hospitals have been occupied by 339 patients at present in T&T. 1,110 patients have also died due to the COVID-19 virus in the country.

Till 4 pm 4,03,251 patients have been given the first dose of COVID-19 vaccines out of these vaccinated persons 91,849 got AstraZeneca Oxford vaccine, 3,11,202 got Sinopharm vaccine and 200 doses of Pfizer. 

Thus,1,98,702 out of the total population got fully vaccinated.

32 patients have been discharged from the public health facilities, and 117 have been recovered community cases. Recovered community cases are categorised in them those who have been infected by COVID-19 virus, and they were in self-isolation, and after reaching the discharge, criteria had been released from self-isolation.

9 additional death have also been reported on Tuesday. From the 9 dead,5 were elderly males,1 elderly females and 1 middle-aged males,1 middle-aged females, 0 young adult male, 1 young adult females 

The government of Trinidad and Tobago had reopen its border for travellers from July 17 but also warned that the non-vaccinated people would not be allowed to enter the country.

Government reopening the borders after the closure of 16-months in Trinidad and Tobago. On Saturday, govt. reopen the borders that we re closed due to COVID-19.

Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley, while speaking at the weekly news conference, said that he had been receiving the reports that on the very first flight that arrived, during that time, some passengers were seeking to beat the system.

The additional cases were taken from samples for the period June.

The ministry urges the public to continue obeying the Public Health Regulations, obey regular hand hygiene and keep physical distancing in public to withdraw from spreading the virus.
