The Trinidad and Tobago Police team arrested at least seven people on theft charges. During the search at the premises, police teams recovered stolen items and seized ammunition in Central Division.

The Trinidad and Tobago Police arrested at least seven people on theft charges. During the search at the premises, police teams recovered stolen items and seized ammunition in Central Division. As per reports, the individuals were nabbed during an anti-crime exercise conducted by the officers.

The officials of the Couva Criminal Investigation Department and Central Division Task Force conducted an exercise at 11 pm on 14 December 2023 and 1 am on Friday, 15 December 2023 in the Couva district.

During the exercise, the officials conducted search operation at the premises of two men and two women from the Claxton Bay area.

While conducting the search, the authorities recovered many items that matched the description of stolen items.

The police personnel arrested 18-year-old man, a 25-year-old and a 42-year-old woman all the residents of Spring Village, Claxton Bay and apprehended 53-year-old man from Carolina Village, Claxton Bay in their connection with the find.

Moreover, in a separate exercise conducted by the officers of Trinidad and Tobago, the authorities were on mobile patrol in the Chase Village district, when they headed towards a service station, located along the Southern Main Road.

During the exercise, they arrested two men, residents of Chase Village, ages 28 and 18. Both the suspects were apprehended for the offence of possessing bolt cutter and a hackshaw.

Furthermore, the officials of the Central Division Gang Unit also conducted an anti-crime exercise between 5 am and 7 am. The officers held an exercise with the help of Guard and Emergency Branch and CDTF Area North and the K9 Branch.

During the exercise, the officers executed a search warrant at the 33-year-old, Chrissie Terrace house at Savannah Drive. While, conducting the search, the authorities seized an AR magazine with two rounds of 5.56 ammunition.

Further, the authorities apprehended Chrissie Terrace in his connection with the items found from him.

The enquiries are ongoing into the matter by the police personnel. Furthermore, such anti-crime exercises conducted by the officials are a great initiative to curb the crime rate. Moreover, the police officials have also ensured that the crime rate would be eradicated.
