St Vincent residents affected by power outage on Sunday
The residents of St Vincent woke up on Sunday to a power outage. Responding to the publics’ concerns the St Vincent Electricity Services Limited (VINLEC) confirmed about the organisation being aware about the electricity interruption in several areas on mainland St Vincent.

St Vincent: The residents of St Vincent woke up on Sunday to a power outage. Responding to the publics’ concerns the St Vincent Electricity Services Limited (VINLEC) confirmed about the organisation being aware about the electricity interruption in several areas on mainland St Vincent.
Issuing the statement the electricity company shared that the teams are working to actively identify the main cause behind the interruption. The statement also notes that they apologize for the inconvenience and are working to resort the power to all the affected customers soon.
Earlier, St Vincent Electricity Services Limited (VINLEC) shared the areas that will experience weekend power outages.
On June 9, Sunday, the areas to face the power outage included Glen (Including OSV Limited and Davy Agro Industries Limited) Upper Villa Lower Fair Hall (Including the Fair Hall Government School, the Housing Scheme Area, Christian Life Ministries Church), Barrymore Road, Fountain (Including AP Multi-Wholesale, Allied Security Services Limited, Xtreme FM Radio Station), Vigie Highway, Villa- Fountain Road, Calliaqua (Including the Clinic, Coast Guard Base).
However, the residents of other areas also complained about the power interruption, to which the company responded with sharing it is routine maintenance of our Transmission and Distribution network. Further the authorities shared this is necessary for the supply of a reliable and safe electricity supply.
Sharing the rage on social media one commented “is this gonna happen every Sunday?”. But appreciating the consistent hard work of VINLEC one resident commented, “Thankyou VINLEC and your hardworking workers”.
On talking with the media, the company workers shared “that the restoration efforts are currently underway, following the recent disruption in power supply”. Some affected areas have already had the power restored.
“We continue to work to ensure swift restoration of power to all affected customers.” Further the workers appreciated the patience and understanding of the residents during the time of power outage.
