MS Nautica marks its inaugural visit by bringing around 800 visitors to Saint Lucia

Saint Lucia welcomed the inaugural visit of MS Nautica on Wednesday, 13th November, 2024, docked at the Jeremie Street. The vessel brought more than 800 visitors to the shores of the country and, offered all the passengers and crew members with an unforgettable adventure on their day at the port.

The first call of the vessel was welcomed with a plaque exchange ceremony which was attended by local dignitaries, tourism officials, and staff of Cox and Company and Global Port Holdings. All the attendees of the event expressed excitement about the growing cruise traffic.

The delegates said that this busy cruise schedule will play a significant role in bringing large number of tourists to the country which will ultimately create a positive impact on the economic conditions of the island nation.

As per the details, a plaque was presented to the captain of the ship, which sheds light on the beginning of what is hoped to be a long and prosperous relationship between the vessel and the country.

The plaque was also a token of appreciation from the Government of Saint Lucia to the management of the vessel, MS Nautica. The authorities said that the arrival of the MS Nautica vessel marks a significant milestone for the development of the cruise tourism industry, aiming to open doors to several opportunities for the local citizens of the country.

As per the details, the authorities also welcomed Viking Sea on Wednesday, bringing around 900 passengers to the shores of the country. The vessel docked at the shores of Point Seraphine, kept the area busy, crowded and entertaining for all the attendees.

According to the reports, Saint Lucia are expecting to welcome around 823,132 passengers aboard 459 calls. With this number, the authorities are aiming to surpass the record set in 2019 of welcoming 789,176 cruise visitors aboard 443 calls.

The Saint Lucia Tourism Authority said that the arrival of the visitors always gives a significant boost to the diverse sectors of the country including hospitality, tourism, restaurants, transportation and many more. They also said that the cruise season is a great opportunity for them to showcase their vibrant culture and traditions, fostering the essence of festive spirit in the island nation.
