St Kitts: Minister Denzil Douglas applauds Dieppe Bay Fishermen Cooperative for Shark Fest 2023
Minister of Foreign Affairs of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Denzil Douglas, commended the Dieppe Bay Fishermen Cooperative.

Basseterre, St Kitts and Nevis: Minister of Foreign Affairs of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Denzil Douglas, commended the Dieppe Bay Fishermen Cooperative. Douglas hailed the organisation and mentioned that they have done outstanding work in hosting the Shark Fest 2023.
Veteran Minister of St Kitts and Nevis Douglas took his official social media account and mentioned, “SPECIAL COMMENDATIONS to the Dieppe Bay Fishermen Cooperative for hosting SHARK FEST 2023.”
He outlined that it was fun for every attendee and brought a lot of excitement. “It was exciting, interesting, and fun-filled; don’t miss it next time,” he said.
In this regard, many St Kittians and Nevisians praised the Minister for his support and presence in the Shark Fest, lauding him for being available for the people of his country. Along with this, many also expressed their will to come and visit during the Fest 2024.
Earlier, in the month of February, the damage caused by Hurricane Irma to the Dieppe Bay was surveyed by the Minister of Agriculture at el., Samal Duggins. The Minister was accompanied by the Acting Permanent Secretary, Miguel Flemming, along with a team of technical staff. According to the government of St Kitts and Nevis, the Director of the Department of Marine Resources, Dr T Marc Williams and the Acting Director of the Department of Agriculture, Jeanelle Kelly, were also among the visitors.
Reportedly, in this regard, Minister Duggins assured that the location will be reconstructed and rejuvenated. He also highlighted that the facility will also have a new ice machine, assisting the fishers in storing and preserving fish.
As per various reports, the Dieppe Bay fish landing site is renowned as a perfect location to catch aquatic animals such as dolphin fish, wahoo, lobster and various reef fish. It is the only fish landing site that is protected by a reef.
