St Kitts and Nevis: The Chevening scholarship 2022 will be granted to fourteen candidates in 2022, as per the announcement made on August 25, 2022.

St Kitts and Nevis: The Chevening scholarship 2022 will be granted to fourteen candidates in 2022, as per the announcement made on August 25, 2022. The British Government will fund around the selected candidates from the Caribbean nation, including Barbados, Dominica, Grenada, Saint Lucia, St Kitts and Nevis and St Vincent and the Grenadines.
The recipients of the various scholarships will go on to pursue their Master’s Degrees at a number of renowned universities in the United Kingdom. From the Federation of St Kitts and Nevis, Joy Napier has successfully received the scholarship and will pursue the studies in International Development at the University of Edinburgh.
This achievement was praised by the Premier of Nevis and parliamentary representative of Constituency 9 Mark Brantley, who shared a congratulatory message on the social media. Premier Brantley also encouraged her for bright educational career and wished for her to achieve new and great heights.
The message by Mark Brantley wrote, “Please help me congratulate another brilliant mind from Nevis who has just captured the prestigious Chevening Scholarship to study in the United Kingdom.”
Furthermore he added, “Congratulations, Ms Joy Napier. The sky is the limit!! Keep pushing!”
Joy Napier is the Founder and Principal of Nevis International Secondary School.
She is an educator and tireless advocate for youth empowerment and political participation. Joy has over a decade of experience in Educational Leadership in St Kitts and Nevis and has also worked as a teacher in Nicaragua and Costa Rica.
She will be pursuing an MSc in International Development from the University of Edinburgh with a focus on youth and politics. Her goal is to radically transform the education landscape of St Kitts and Nevis through progressive policy.
Joy also hopes to create further spaces for the meaningful participation of young people in civil society and political decision making.
