St Kitts and Nevis Cabinet concludes school tour with visit to Secondary schools and CFBC
These annual visits are one of the signature events on the Independence calendar of activities as it provides an opportunity to the young people of the nation to interact directly with the leaders of Government.

The Federal Cabinet of St Kitts and Nevis concluded this year’s Independence school tours on Tuesday, 17th September 2024, with their visit to various secondary schools and Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College (CFBC).
These annual visits are one of the signature events on the Independence calendar of activities as it provides an opportunity for the young people of the nation to interact directly with the leaders of Government.
This visit was again led by Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew, accompanied by Minister of Foreign Affairs of St Kitts and Nevis Dr Denzil Douglas, Deputy Prime Minister Geoffrey Hanley, Minister of Sports Samal Duggins, Minister of Public Energy Konris Maynard, and other cabinet members.
While sharing glimpses of his visit to the schools, PM Terrance Drew stated that he always loves interacting with the future of the nation. He noted that engaging with these bright stars fills him with hope and pride as they celebrate Independence 41 with the next generation, who will shape the future of the nation.
All the Cabinet members enjoyed their visit to the schools and hosted several activities for the children and gave them the opportunity to showcase their talent, abilities and skills. PM Terrance Drew ensured every student that his administration will make every possible effort to build a society where every child can flourish and reach their full potential.
Moreover, the Minister of Sports Samal Duggins shared several pictures that he clicked with the children during his visit to the schools. He stated that these students are not just the young faces but the bright future of St Kitts and Nevis.
He added that they are the ones who will carry forward the dreams of the nation and will bring several laurels to its name. While recalling his experience, he stated that he grew up on the same streets, walked the same paths, and faced the same struggles that these young people are facing today.
He added that his journey is a reflection of what is possible when a person believes in themselves and work hard to turn their aspirations into a reality.
Minister Samal Duggins continued to say that there is so much more to life than what the world sometimes shows. He noted that these young people do not have to follow the shadows of crime and violence. Instead, they need to dream boldly and chase after their dreams.
The Minister asserted that as they are celebrating their 41st Independence, the young individuals need to know that this is their journey too. He stated that youth are part of this legacy and the future depends on them.
“If I can make it, so can you. I’m not just a minister, I’m a reflection of the greatness that lies within each of you,” noted Minister Samal Duggins.
Notably, these tours by the Cabinet Members started from Thursday, 5th September 2024 with their visits to various schools such as SKI Academic, the Cayon Primary School, Violet Petty Primary, Joshua Obadiah Williams Primary, Cotton-Thomas Comprehensive at the Estridge Campus, Edgar T. Morris Primary, Saddlers Primary and the Dieppe Bay Primary School.
Following that, it was continued on Thursday, 12th September 2024 when the Cabinet members headed to the public and private primary schools in the Basseterre zone. During their second tour, they visited schools including, Deane Glasford Primary School, the Halliday-Smith Primary School (formerly The Irish Town Primary School), Epworth/Maurice Hillier Memorial, Beach Allen Primary School, The George Moody Stuart School (Factory School), Seventh Day Adventist Primary and the Tucker Clarke Primary schools.
The students got a chance to meet and interact with the members and had an interactive session with the leaders.
