Saint Lucia:100-pound LPG cylinders prices surge as Govt announces increase of $4.97
The Government of Saint Lucia implemented a revision in the pricing of 100-pound cylinders, marking an increase of $4.97 per cylinder.

Castries, Saint Lucia: The Government of Saint Lucia implemented a revision in the pricing of 100-pound cylinders, marking an increase of $4.97 per cylinder. This surge in prices will be effective in the nation from 29th July to 18th August 2024.
According to the information, the administration has raised rates for 100-pound cylinder (45.36 kg) from $261.78 per cylinder to $266.75 per cylinder. Meanwhile, there was no modification in the pricing of other petroleum products such as gasoline, diesel, kerosene and LPG 20-pound and 22-pound cylinders, remained constant.
Moreover, the Government of the island nation has continued to subsidize the cost of the LPG 20-pound and 22-pound cylinders. The subsidies announced for LPG 20-pound and 22-pound cylinders cost around $17.35 and $19.08 respectively.
As per the details, the price of the Gasoline was $3.63 per litre or $16.50 per imperial gallon and following the announcement, it remained the same. No change has been noticed in the prices of diesel as it cost around $3.63 per litre or $16.50 per imperial gallon and is still the same following the announcement of the revised prices.
The price of kerosene is unchanged at $2.57 per litre or $11. 69 per imperial gallon. Along with that, the prices of 20-pound cylinder (9.07 kg) and 22-pound cylinder (9.98 kg) will remain constant and will be available to the citizens of the country at $36.00 and $39.60 respectively.
Also, the next fuel price adjustment has been scheduled to take place on 18th August 2024. The citizens of the country who are happy with the constant pricing of the petroleum products have also expressed their concern over the rising prices of the 100-pound cylinders.
The citizens are hoping that they do not have to bear the brunt of the rising fuel prices in the near future. They also noted that the hike in the prices has made it difficult for those families who can’t able to afford LPG cylinders due to the high prices.
