Queen’s Park Steel Shed testing site to remain closed on March 20

Barbados: The Ministry of Health and Wellness has shared information about the Queen’s Park Steel Shed closure in St Michael. The Ministry has stated that the testing site would remain “CLOSED” on March 20, 2022 (Sunday).

The Ministry stated, “The Ministry of Health and Wellness advises that the COVID-19 testing site at the Queen’s Park Steel Shed, Constitution Road, St Michael, will be closed on Sunday, March 20.”

While elaborating about the cause of the closure, the Ministry informed that the service would be unavailable because of the water repair in the area, which the Barbados Water Authority would carry out.

“The testing site will be closed due to work carried out by the Barbados Water Authority, which is expected to result in a water outage in the area,” the Ministry outlined.

The Ministry further provided details about the substitute testing sites. The Health Minister mentioned, “Persons who require tests for COVID-19 are advised to visit the Wildey Gymnasium, Wildey, St Michael.”

Earlier, the Barbados Water Authority updated the residents of St Peter about the water repair work on March 18, 2022 (Friday).

“The Barbados Water Authority update residents of the St Peter districts affected by low pressure or water outages that repair work is still ongoing one of its facilities in St Peter on March 18,” BWA stated.

Residents in Baywoods, Diamond Corner, Benny Hall, Black Bess, Boscobelle, Castle Tenantry, Four Hills, Indian Ground, The Baltic, Gays Village, Mount Stepney, Rock Hall, St. Silas Heights, Water Hall Terrace and surrounding areas will be impacted during the day.

The authority assured that its tankers would continue to assist customers in these areas until the repairs were complete.
