Barbadian Immunisation Unit reminds COVID-19 vaccine sites for March 19, 20

Barbados: To ease the vaccination process for the residents of Barbados, the Immunisation Unit has shared reminders on the vaccination locations for receiving jabs against the deadly virus.

On March 19, 2022 (Saturday), the Immunisation Unit reminded the public that COVID-19 vaccines would be available on Saturday, March 19, and Sunday, March 20, 2022, at two locations.

As per the unit, the locations and times where vaccination against the SARS-CoV-2 infection will be available are –

March 19, 2022 (Saturday)

  • Winston Scott Polyclinic, Jemmott’s Lane, St Michael – 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM

March 20, 2022 (Sunday)

  • Harbour Industrial Park (Building No. 2), St Michael – 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM

The Barbadian Government further informed that the AstraZeneca, Pfizer, Sinopharm, and Johnson & Johnson vaccines would be available at the polyclinics as well as vaccination centres at the scheduled times only. The students aged between 12-18 years, may come to receive the vaccine at any time.

The health ministry has asked the persons who wish to receive their first dose are advised to walk with their identification card, and those who are eligible for second doses should travel with their blue vaccination card.

The ministry notified that the booster shots for the AstraZeneca, Pfizer and Sinopharm vaccines are available for eligible persons who received their second dose six months ago. It further informed that citizens receiving the booster might present either their blue vaccination card or vaccination certificate and valid photo identification.

As per the statics shared by the health ministry on March 17 (Thursday), the total number of persons with at least one dose is 160,761, consisting of 70.4 percent of the eligible population. The number of fully vaccinated persons is 150,580, which is 55.6 percent of the total population or 65.9 percent of the eligible population, under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19.

In Barbados, the eligible population represents those persons who are 12 years and older.
