Police probes investigation for double homicide in Port of Spain
Port of Spain: Two persons were brutally killed by the masked men. The incident marked the double homicide in Trinidad and Tobago.

Trinidad and Tobago: The Police are investigating a double homicide that occurred in the country’s capital, Port of Spain, on Friday. During the incident, the victims were brutally killed by unknown masked men. The officers have recovered cartridge shells from the scene.
As per police reports, the deceased was identified as 32-years-old Jamal Etienne of Upper St Barbs Road in Laventille and another victim was recognised as Latrell Daniel, who was a resident of Pelican Extension in Morvant.
The police were informed about the murders and the investigating officers responded to the matter and arrived at the scene. Upon arrival at the location, they found the victims lying motionless in the car.
Details of the homicides
The sources revealed that at Etienne and Daniel were seated in their parked vehicle, along the eastern side of Piccadilly Street in the surrounding of the Green Zone Sports Bar.
Suddenly, the two masked men approached them and opened fire on their vehicle. They panicked and drove their car to Duke Street. However, while taking a turn, their car got hit by another parked vehicle on Henry Street.
The shooting continued on them due to which the dual received multiple injuries of gunshots about their bodies. The people across the area heard the terrible sounds of the firing and they informed the police regarding the matter.
The law enforcement officers immediately arrived at the crime spot and took Daniel and Etienne to the Port of Spain General Hospital, where they succumbed to their injuries.
Furthermore, the police thoroughly examined the crime scene and recovered ten 9mm spent shells. They are probing their investigation into the double homicides and urged the people with any information to report their statement to the nearby police station and assist them in their investigations.
In addition, such stances of crimes are increasing rapidly and putting the safety and security of the citizens at risk. Just a day before this incident, the police officers reported a murder case, where a male victim died due to multiple gunshot wounds.
Noting this, the incident took place near the Sports Bar at the Malabar Extension Road. The authorities are urged to take strict measures against such criminal activities before the country pays a high price.
