PM Roosevelt Skerrit extends helping hand to enhance improvements as part of Community Day Service
Roosevelt Skerrit, the Prime Minister of Dominica shared his images of cleaning up the streets after Independence Day celebrations.

The Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica, Dr Roosevelt Skerrit, extended a helping hand to all the workers engaged in road construction projects in Morne Daniel, Roseau and Newtown. He lent a hand on these projects on 4th November 2024, aiming to make improvements around the city.
This help provided by the Prime Minister is a part of the Community Day service, an initiative for the 46th anniversary of the Independence of Dominica.
PM Roosevelt Skerrit shared his images of cleaning up the streets after Independence Day celebrations. This day brought people from various communities together to engage in various activities with the primary purpose of improving local areas.
The celebration of Community Day of Service 2024 included the cleanup of public places such as beaches, parks and streets. Along with that, the citizens also came together with a vision to repair and refurbish community facilities like schools, health centers, and places of worship in order to improve the overall environment of the respective places.
Moreover, the Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Melissa Poponne Skerrit also shared the glimpses of her taking an initiative of putting in some good work for the welfare of her community.
The improvements began with the preparation of the sidewalks for a fresh concrete finish. The Minister called it a great initiative towards enhancing the surroundings of the locality, ensuring to provide a hassle-free sidewalk for everyone to enjoy.
The Minister stated that this initiative of Community Day of Service shed light on their commitment towards protecting and safeguarding their country and leading it towards sustainable growth and development.
Recently, Dominica celebrated its 46th anniversary of Independence on 3rd November, 2024. The celebration was conducted under the vibrant theme, “Péyi Nou, Kado Nou”—Our Country, Our Gift which united citizens of the entire nation together to celebrate the independence of Dominica.
The Prime Minister called Dominica, a treasure, a gift that is need to be protected and cherished for generations to come. He stated that they are the products of their Independence and the architects of their future. He added that they are determined to define their identity and stand alongside their nations as equals and to claim their rightful place in the global community.
