PM Pierre represents 2024/2025 Budget, vows to overcome Global Economic Instability

PM Pierre represented the Revenue and Expenditure for the financial year 2024-2025. He expressed his commitment to build resilience in the country.

Castries, Saint Lucia: Prime Minister Philip J Pierre represented the Revenue and Expenditure for the financial year 2024-2025. He expressed his commitment to build resilience in the country. He promises to overcome global economic instability and other factors that create hurdles in the development of the nation. 

Some of the factors such as sharp rises in interest rates, high inflation, and especially challenges posed by the Gaza and Ukraine due to their dispute are the matter of great concerns and needs to be tackle as soon as possible. 

While speaking about the development of Saint Lucia, PM Pierre said that the country has a wide cadre of qualified men and women in his Cabinet, who are supported by well-experienced and trained technocrats in public service. 

Noting this, the officials are working tirelessly and diligently in bringing the positive outcomes of every action of the government. Their collective efforts can be seen in the growing economic of the country. 

Saint Lucia has achieved economic gains over the previous year and enhanced the government’s fiscal position. 

“This government, as the economic data will show, has done well in managing the economy. Our financial ratios illustrate fiscal prudence and responsibility”, added PM Drew. 

2024-2025 Budget Proposal

While speaking about the budget, he revealed that his focus is to transform the economy of Saint Lucia and aims to bring advancement in the infrastructural development. PM Pierre kept his word and followed the theme, “Putting People First.” 

Some of the ongoing projects for 2024/25 are as follows, 

– Government plant refurbishment

– School plant rehabilitation

– Road expansion and repair programmes

– Works on the Soufriere Hospital

– Construction works at St Jude Hospital

– Establishment of Castries Urban Polyclinic

– Completion of works on the La Resource Wellness Centre

– National Aquatic Centre

– Expansion of energy projects

– Grand Riviere Community Centre Micoud Jetty 

– Vieux Fort Entertainment Centre

– Digital Infrastructural Enhancement

– Rehabilitation of sporting facilities 

Additionally, PM Pierre and his government left no stone unturned to provide wealth-creation opportunities to the people of Saint Lucia.
