PM Philip J Pierre highlighted Saint Lucia’s new Universal Healthcare Logo, as the nation looks to enhance its primary healthcare facilities.

Prime Minister of Saint Lucia, Philip J Pierre, announced the unveiling of a revamped logo for the nation’s Universal Healthcare apparatus. The Prime Minister did so via his Facebook profile which allows him to stay connected with his citizens and exchange information regarding the government in an effective manner.
He also made it a point to state that his administration was dedicated to making sure that the nation’s healthcare system fulfills the needs of its citizens and is both accessible and affordable. The aim is to make sure that the socio-economic status of the citizens doesn’t act as a barrier, keeping them from quality healthcare.
In the Prime Minister’s opinion, access to healthcare is a basic right that his government will do its best to provide to its citizens.
He went on to add that not only is his government looking to enhance the pre-existing primary healthcare facilities in the country, but are also dedicated to expanding and strengthening the system, while promoting a healthy life style and mental well-being.
Prime Minister Pierre also highlighted the need to address the issue of non-communicable diseases which are reaching high levels in the country. Having said that, other health issues being faced by the populace will also be addressed in the appropriate manner. These initiatives will be funded through the government’s Health and Security Levy, according to Prime Minister Philip J Pierre.
He also made a heartfelt request to the people of Saint Lucia to make sure that they do their part in promoting these programs and the values upon which the nation is looking to promote health and wellness.
The Universal Health Coverage program of Saint Lucia is based in the capital city of Castries, specifically in the Sir Stanislaus James building and is aimed primarily at health promotion, palliative care, disease prevention, treatment and rehabilitation.
