Montego Bay, Jamaica: Norse Atlantic and Canada Jetlines have extended their services to Jamaica. The information has been announced via social media handle Yesterday, December 10, 2023.
These newly launched services are proven to boost the tourism sector and would be helpful in the nation’s economic growth.
These services on the flights are:-
- Launch of new routes
- Low-cost carrier
- Transatlantic budget routes
These services would help travellers visit Jamaica at affordable prices and experience the beauty of one of the most captivating islands around the Caribbean region and the rest of the world.
The Norse Atlantic Airlines, which covers flights from London Gatwick Airport to Sangster Air Port, will offer weekly seasonal flights on Monday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday using a modern Boeing 787 Dreamliner craft.
Canada Jetlines has also expanded its service with an inaugural flight from Toronto Pearson International Airport to Sangster International Airport. These services have been made to capture enough demand to break even on this popular winter route.
On the above-observed services, the Executive Director of Jamaica Vacation, Joy Roberts, shared that the services, especially in the Norse Atlantic, would be significant for the following reasons:-
These include:-
- Jamaica would be more accessible to British travellers
- The Norse would only operate during the peak travel months and would not have to worry about weaker winter travel season
“As you know, Jamaica is the number-one Caribbean island for UK travellers, and we’re excited that we have extra airlift into Jamaica. There is also an opportunity for persons who are travelling from Jamaica to London; they have premium economy and economy seats.” he further noted.
Further, the Tourism Minister of Jamaica, Edmund Bartlett, lauded Jamaica’s effective partnership with Canada. He stated that this initiave will assist in Jamaica reaching the goal of having 500,000 visitors from Canada each year.
