Lucian Carnival 2024: PM Pierre congratulate winners of nationally staged events
These competitions were a part of the Lucian Carnival which gave an opportunity to several citizens to showcase their talents, abilities, skills and techniques.

Castries, Saint Lucia: Prime Minister of Saint Lucia, Philip J Pierre extended congratulations to the winners of the nationally staged competitions. These competitions were a part of the Lucian Carnival which gave an opportunity to several citizens to showcase their talents, abilities, skills and techniques.
Notably, PM Pierre attended the National Calypso Monarch Competition and expressed excitement on being finally able to participate in some of the carnival activities.
The leader of the nation recognized all the participants as well as the winners of the competition. He stated that it is their hard work and contribution towards their respective art forms which has played a huge role in the growing the festival and providing a major source of economic activity for small businesses.
The winners of the respective competition include,
- Calypso Monarch: Dezral
- Inter-commercial Calypso Monarch: Ernie J
- Groovy Soca Monarch: Sly
- Power Soca Monarch: Ricky T
- King of the Bands: Fusion Mas
- Queen of the Bands: Tribe of Twel
- Panorama Champions: Babonneau Steel Orchestra
- Junior Calypso: Mongouge Primary School
- Junior Calypso: Sir Ira Simmons Secondary School
The Prime Minister extended gratitude to all the participants of the Carnival for their immense contribution towards playing a huge role in making the event successful. He also mentioned about the Kiddies Carnival and stated for the next two days, the island nation will host the Parade of the Bands.
The Lucian Carnival Parade of the Bands is the moment where the vibrant culture and contagious energy of Saint Lucia comes alive. The streets buzz with excitement as residents and visitors unite for the spectacular celebration. This event immerses everyone in the electrifying rhythms of Dennery Segment and Soca, the stunning costumes, and the joyful atmosphere that offer an unforgettable experience to all the visitors.
Moreover, the authorities have implemented stringent safety measures so that all the attendees of the Parade of the Bands can able to enjoy carnival without any disturbance. The administration has prioritized the safety of the public and has disrupted the unauthorized drone activity in order to prevent any negative impact. They have also requested the citizens and visitors to follow all the safety regulations in order to ensure a safe and enjoyable carnival season.
