Livestock commodity workshops at St Kitts and Nevis highlights efforts towards 25 by 25 agenda
The Ministry of Agriculture of St Kitts and Nevis announced 25 by 25 livestock commodity workshops. It has extended an invitation to all farmers and persons interested in farming to a series of Livestock Commodity Consultations.

St Kitts and Nevis: The Ministry of Agriculture of St Kitts and Nevis announced 25 by 25 livestock commodity workshops. It has extended an invitation to all farmers and persons interested in farming to a series of Livestock Commodity Consultations.
The location for the same has been mentioned as the Department of Agriculture’s Large Conference Room. It is located at La Guerite, Basseterre and the timing for the consultation is 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm.
For the livestock commodities, dates as well has been announced that are as follows:
- Broiler on April 10 (Wednesday)
- Small Ruminants on April 11 (Thursday)
- Bovine on April 30 (Thursday)
- Bees on May 1 (Wednesday)
And, pigs as part of it have already been provided on April 8, 2024.
Last month, the ministry of agriculture also shared the positive results for the 25 by 25 agenda which came forward in the form of perfectly grown watermelon, tomato and sweet pepper seedlings. Such a result reveals and states the efforts done for the same has come fruitful.
This was revealed with the collaborative efforts of the Herbert’s Seedlings and the Ministry of Agriculture as part of a 25 by 25 agenda. This agenda was introduced to foster food security in the country. Major part of this has been included in the form of a 25% reduction of food import bill by 25% by the year 2025.
Such a reduction in imports is one of the great ideas that can offer great benefits, directing towards the growth and development of the country. The agenda would not only enhance food security and crop production, however, would offer reduced cost to the food items as well to the population of St Kitts and Nevis.
Agriculture holds a major part of contributions towards the economic development of the country. Also, gives an idea of building trust among the people of country as authorities are taking all necessary actions for the fulfilment of agenda.
