LIAT 20 flying higher: Expanding nonstop routes across the Caribbean

Caribbean skies are now open, beaming with activities with the reincarnation of LIAT, now referred to as LIAT 20. The newly revived airline, which has long been a staple in regional travel, is making waves by announcing new nonstop routes to four additional Caribbean islands that include St Kitts, Grenada, Barbados and Saint Lucia.

This comes as part of LIAT 20’s grand plan to regain its status as the preferred airline for those who like to island hop across the Caribbean.

Many people and especially those who have travelled with LIAT 20 are keenly waiting for the company to be operational again after its first flight between Antigua and Dominica.

There has been a lot of speculation on the return of LIAT and this means that this expansion is a very positive step towards the rebranding of LIAT as a viable and affordable means of transport in the region. LIAT 20 laid down a statement to Caribbean Journal where it invoked its determination to improve the travel experience in the Caribbean.

Now, the client-based transport company has said that it is willing to make island-hopping more convenient for the consumers. This mission is seen in its newest service, offerings to enhance the travellers’ journey be it for leisure or business purposes.

Perhaps the most important one of them all is the question, what does it cost to fly on these airlines. To this end, LIAT 20 has adopted a favourable fares structure with one-way fares as low as $99 plus taxes.

This is a good base fare but one should know that when taxes are included a sample round trip ticket costs about $377.75. This pricing also shows the attempts by LIAT 20 to make their products cheaper while at the same time acknowledging that people in this region do consider air transport a luxury rather than a necessity.

These points therefore can be seen as benefiting both the LIAT 20 as a company and the islands that would be experiencing an improved connectivity as well as flow of tourist traffic.

St Kitts, Grenada, Barbados and Saint Lucia are all tourist attractions with different cultural properties, beautiful scenery and a diverse population. The establishment of these new routes is likely to increase tourism and afford tourist an even wider variety of interesting tourism products in the Caribbean region.

LIAT 20 with a come-back and its expansion, is bringing a new frontier to traveling within the Caribbean. This made the airline set low and attractive fares and the primary goal of satisfying their clients hence making the airline the vital connection between the islands.
